A special WWII visitor

Today Year 3 have had a very special visitor. Alan, who was just 9 years old during the war, came into school to tell us all about his experience as a a child during WWII.

Before the visit, the children prepared some questions to ask Alan. You can see a few examples in the pictures below. Alan told the children all about rationing, children being evacuated, air raid shelters, what it felt like when Neville Chamberlain announced the war and much more.

Year 3 would like to say a very big thank you to Alan for visiting today. We have gained even more knowledge of what it was like to live through WWII, which is brilliant as part of our ‘I Remember’ topic.
